Is there an email address for yahoo customer service?

I have received an email which claims to be from yahoo. I am suspicious of the content. I would like to get a confirmation on it as it is asking for confidential information about my yahoo account.

Yahoo would not ask for confidential info, they already have it! What you got sounds like a phishing attempt, forward it to: phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com, here's how: click the crtl key and at the same time click the "forward" button to forward a message as an attachment, mac users should click the "apple" key and click "forward" simultaneously.
