If you want to use Yahoo!, this is no problem. Yahoo! E-mail comes in the forms of free, and then for those who actually pay for it (such as myself). To sign up for this, simply go to yahoo.com, click on any E-mail link, (direct link: https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_ver... and at a login page, you will see another option, usually under the words: 'Don't have a Yahoo! ID? Signing up is easy.' There you will see a 'Sign Up' link. Simply click this link to begin the registration process. You will be asked a few simply questions, then create your account. Easy as that! From here on out, just go to Yahoo.com, and login to begin using your new E-mail account.
Also, on a side note, since you are using a public computer, be sure to not leave any personal information left on the system, and make sure that you log out whenever you are done, if you were'nt already doing so. Hope this helps. :)

I have registered my c# exe as a web service using instsrv and edited my registry .It has email service in my c# application which connects to a local SMTP service on my machine.However when I start the service it says--

When a windows service starts and stops like that, it usually means that the program ended. It can either end as intended or it can error out.
Can you make sure that it didn't end properly? Do you have a loop that continues to run? It may have just finished executing.
If there is a loop or other control flow that keeps the program running and it simply errored out, I would check the Windows event log to see if there was any error logged. Additionally, you could put in your own logging logic.

I have AOL Broadband but am moving somewhere that already has Broadband set up with somebody else so there's no point paying AOL anymore.

We left AOL back in April ( with a little bit of difficulty). I found that i was still able to access it! But then we found out why, they were still charging us.
Anyway, no you can't keep your e-mail address, so start sending the important e-mails to another address and save any contacts.
Reply:What you must do before you leave is notify everyone that you will not be using that email address anymore and you will notify them of a new one as soon as possible and not to send you anymore emails. Just copy your address book.
When you get your new ISP one just tell everyone. That way you are not beholding to AOL. Simple!

Firstly, well done on leaving aol. I remember the days when they use to be good...
So what you have to do is phone aol and say I would like to change my account to a BYOA Account ( Buy your own access). They will do that and it happens straight away. You can then check your mail from AOL.co.uk or use the aol software and it won't cost you anything.

When you leave AOL as a service provider do you lose your AOL email address too?
We left AOL back in April ( with a little bit of difficulty). I found that i was still able to access it! But then we found out why, they were still charging us.
Anyway, no you can't keep your e-mail address, so start sending the important e-mails to another address and save any contacts.

When you get your new ISP one just tell everyone. That way you are not beholding to AOL. Simple!

I have AOL Broadband but am moving somewhere that already has Broadband set up with somebody else so there's no point paying AOL anymore.

Do you know of a free email service for kids?
Yahoo and Hotmail both work well. The only problem I have with it is that anyone who gets e-mail from you sees the whole name you enter in, so they get your first and last name if you fill that in. I solved that by putting only my initials, not my full name, in the lines. Also, you don't have to put all the information in as it really is. You can say your child is from burmuda if you can find Burmuda's zip code!

Can child protection services look through your email?
My girlfriend has turned her dad in for sexual abuse. Now her mom is telling child services that I was the one who did the sexual abuse and drugged my girlfriend to make her think it was her dad. Crazy I know.
So now child services is investigating me. I was just wondering if they have the right to search my email. Isn't it against Yahoo's Privacy Statement to have them search through it without my consent?
I have nothing to hide. My girlfriend's aunt told me they were doing it and I was just a little pissed off at the whole thing so I just wanted to know if they were allowed to do that.

The Child Protection services shouldn't be allowed to look through your e-mail, because of the Right to Privacy that passed through parliament. You can take them to court if they do go through your e-mails when you haven't been prosecuted, and without permission. And yes, it would be against Yahoo's Privacy Statement. If you're having questions about yahoo's statement, you can go back and read it, to confirm if it is truly based upon privacy, watch out for disclaimers. Also, why would you have to worry if you didn't do anything?

So now child services is investigating me. I was just wondering if they have the right to search my email. Isn't it against Yahoo's Privacy Statement to have them search through it without my consent?
I have nothing to hide. My girlfriend's aunt told me they were doing it and I was just a little pissed off at the whole thing so I just wanted to know if they were allowed to do that.

The Child Protection services shouldn't be allowed to look through your e-mail, because of the Right to Privacy that passed through parliament. You can take them to court if they do go through your e-mails when you haven't been prosecuted, and without permission. And yes, it would be against Yahoo's Privacy Statement. If you're having questions about yahoo's statement, you can go back and read it, to confirm if it is truly based upon privacy, watch out for disclaimers. Also, why would you have to worry if you didn't do anything?

I am currently using a Nokia cellphone which has an built email client. I configured the client in order to "pull' emails from my pop email accounts which I do through wifi access. If I were to buy a Blackberry, could I use it email client on the phone in order to do the same thing without having a Blackberry Service?

Please can you try opening other website from the same PC or Laptop, if they are faster, change from the beta version to classiscal version , sometime the beta version are slower.
I recommend, using classical version incase you are having problem regularly, also why not just check from another computer and see the speed the mail open , is likely a cache problem been redirecting your explorer or browser to a hanged version of long open page

However, if you want all your mail right into some mail client like outlook or outlook express and prefer reading it offline hotmail (live.com) is best.

Reply:If by "on the web" you mean html mail, aka hosted mail, I think the answer to that needs to come from your criteria. Hotmail is one of the oldest of these services. It was pioneering in its day, and with microsoft behind it, it's very reliable.
Yahoo and Gmail are both better services in my opinion. Yahoo is great if you're bought into all the related Yahoo services. I personally use Gmail, and it was pioneering for 2 reasons: first extensive use of Ajax, which makes the user interface a lot more intuitive than that offered by a lot of the original webmail companies. Second, they came out with accounts with 1gig of storage (now 2 gigs) and turned the business on its ear. Lycos and Aol have followed recently and offer as much as 3-5 gigs of storage, but Gmail lead the way.
To get a better answer, you'd have to be more specific in terms of what you want the service for, and what features are important to you. The other thing is that, since they are all free services, at least to sign up and try, there's no reason you can't create an account in each, and try them all out.

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. If you look you will find lots of people cannot send/receive/delete mail at the moment. I was advised to uninstall Javascript and then reinstall the latest version. This worked for me. If it does not for you then apparently it's only in the all new version. Try returning to the Classic version for now. I am also told that the mail is in fact there in your box and is being sent. It's simply invisible in all new mail. You would have to check with your individual email program/service to see if this option is available. I believe AOL offers this option. I do not think Yahoo! offers it. But, again, the person receiving the email must be using the same mail server as you. Otherwise, their own mail server probably would not send you that kind of personal information...

For example, if you are both using the same server (such as a University account), you should have the option to receive a "Read Receipt" once the other person actually opens the email you send. The server recognizes that he/she has opened your email, and then immediately sends you an email saying, "SoAndSo has read your email."
You would have to check with your individual email program/service to see if this option is available. I believe AOL offers this option. I do not think Yahoo! offers it. But, again, the person receiving the email must be using the same mail server as you. Otherwise, their own mail server probably would not send you that kind of personal information...

Why is your service on email so bad these days?
I keep getting either booted or something from the email. I sign in then read and when I try to respond to an email then click on the spell check or send, it always come back with an error stating the page can not be displayed. But I can go back and that page redisplays. I can exit and come back in and get to the same point and it does it again. I am tired of having to go back into Yahoo mail constantly and sometime come back to it after a couple of hours to deliver or send an email.

and then will load fast after it loads 1 time.Also email etc you will have to sign in 1 time with password etc.
This will create new cookies.
then also go to start at bottom of on task bar.
click start 1 time then select find or search depending on your operating system.
Select all files and folders - then type in defrag and click search.When icons come up double click
and new box will come up - select analyze then you will see how fragmented you are -
then choose defrag.You can put this program on your desk top by right clicking on the icon you found in search for defrag.
Right click choose create short cut.This will put a short cut on your desk top.Then you can use as needed in future.
then go start on blue bar (task bar)
choose search or find
then choose all files and folders
then type in disk clean up
when you see this icon
double click
choose c drive
let it run
then click ok
so you dont have to do this again
go back to same icon
right click
choose create short cut on desk top
close all windows
a new icon will be on your desk top
then you can run it when you want to
RESTART COMPUTER AFTER YOU DO ALL THE ABOVE

What is the best fax - email service out there? Example, faxes are send to a number and it is emailed to you.?

i'm a us army soldier currently in iraq. i have internet access in my room and signed up for the yahoo voice-in-out. well, it's been 3 months and it's not activated yet but i do get charged for it every month. i can't find any customer service email addresses to see what's going on. i'd like to be able to talk to my wife and kids back home. that's the main reason i got the messanger w/ voice phone.
